So usually, I don't listen to much music specifically. When driving, I sit in silence. If I want background noise, I tend to listen to different YouTube videos. Music has just not been significant for me in nearly a decade.
Most of the time now, if I'm in the mood for music, I will listen to comedy bands like Ninja Sex Party or Tenacious D. I'll also listen to music from the Strange Music label: Tech N9ne, Krizz Kaliko, Rittz, etc. And if I'm feeling extra nostalgic, I'll go back and listen to Nu Metal or harder rock music.
Today I went back and listened to System of a Down and Rage Against the Machine. My goal was to find something very charged and relevant to today, and hoo-boy did I hit the nail on the head for what I needed. Probably the highlights of the day were Deer Dance and Wake Up by each band respectively.
It's incredible how these songs are going to relevant as long as authoritarianism lives.
